64-year-old Jeremy Lockwood rummaged through dinosaur bone collections from two museums in England to make a new discovery. A retired general practitioner who is now studying for a PhD at the University of Portsmouth, he reassembled the bone pieces that were in storage since 1978. Upon completion he discovered the skull to have an unusually large nose. This discovery made it one of the happiest days of lockdown because it was a sign there really was something different about this particular dinosaur from the Isle of Wight," says Lockwood. The new species of dinosaur was named Brighstoneus simmondsi.
