The art in France's famous Louvre museum is now available to view for free by anyone with a computer or smartphone. More than 482,000 artworks have been digitized and can now be seen online, along with detailed information about each artwork from databases that are updated daily. In addition to avoiding crowds, online visitors can see artworks not seen by in-person visitors - the digital collection also includes art that is on loan or in storage.
