For 45 weeks leading up to her 45th birthday, Shannon Shultz did one unique act of kindness a week. One week, she donated blood. Another, she adopted a chicken that stopped laying eggs. On a different week, she taped $1 bills in different spots at a local Dollar Store. In November, she built a house with Habitat for Humanity. Last week, she left May baskets for her neighbors, loading them with fresh flowers. When others ask how she finds the time for the Kindness Countdown (she did this for her 40th birthday, too!), she responds, simply, "Anytime something is important to you, you'll make time. This has become a priority for us."
