A West Philadelphia bookstore has become the epicenter of a new gardening movement under the Cooperative Gardens Commission. The Commission, born from the current conditions of scarcity, serves to address seed shortage and facilitate the sharing of knowledge and resources, encouraging individuals to grow their own food. They have received millions of donated seeds from all over the U.S., and are packing and shipping them to more than 100 regional distributors to share with local farmers. Along with this, they are organizing Zoom classes, webinars and a hotline to assist novices.
