Muslims Giving Back is a group co-founded by Asad Dandia that is focused on distributing emergency aid to New York Muslims in need while supporting their local businesses. The way it works is, gift cards are purchased, then distributed to struggling families who can use the cards to buy necessities FROM Arab, South Asian and Muslim owned shops participating in the project. Shahana Hanif is engaged in a similar project to help Bangladeshi families, particularly the elderly, single mothers and people who have lost family `member`s to Covid-19.
