Teachers across the U.S. are reaching out to their English Language Learners in innovative ways. TalkingPoint app, Google Classroom and handwritten letters, together with a good dollop of love and care, are some of the methods being used to help students stay on top while schools are shut. Many disadvantaged students have trouble accessing the internet or even food but Taniuska Worsham, who teaches in Thornton, Colo., has told her students not to be shy telling her because she is like their "online mom now."
