Sweden's air is going to be a lot sweeter now, as it has closed its last coal-fired power station. Better still, Sweden has achieved this two years ahead of schedule and is on track to be powered entirely by renewable or recycled energy by 2030. Sweden now joins Austria and Belgium in cleaner air, and it is expected that France, Slovakia, Portugal, UK, Ireland and Italy will have left coal behind by 2025 or earlier.
