In most zoos, animals are caged and people wander freely. But the Safari Lion Zoo in Rancagua, Chile, is different. Here the animals wander freely and the tourists ride around the five acre site in caged vehicles, letting visitors see the animals in their natural habitat. Visitors can bring fresh meat to draw the attention of the six lions, who can climb on the buses and stare down at the occupants, but are not permitted to feed the animals. However, they are permitted to photograph and even touch them. The visits help fund the zoo's rehabilitation center to rescue and heal hundreds of Chilean wild animals.
