When the devastating Marshall Fire swept through Superior, Colorado late in 2021, Andrea Golod found herself uniquely positioned to help othersthrough group art therapy sessions. She knew what it felt like to lose a home, and her community connections meant she could facilitate free therapy programs which are offered six times a month. Sessions are offered separately for people who lost everything andfor those experiencing some kind of fire-related trauma. They are grouped by age and coupled with talk therapy. Despite the collective pain and trauma that the fire caused, seeing people support each other and validate each other's experiences is beautiful, says therapist Krista Reinhardt-Ruprecht.
