This article makes the case that women’s participation in leadership roles is increasing and that we need even more women in leadership roles. In 2021, 33 women held CEO roles in Fortune 500 companies, the highest number of female CEO’s ever. This is progress and the statistics show that while women account for 47% of the workforce, they only hold 21% of leadership roles such as managers, VP’s, executives, board members and more. According to research, Fortune 500 companies with strong female participation on their boards of directors consistently outperform companies all those who do not have that.
