Construction for an environmentally friendly floodwater drainage system recently started in New Orleans. Urban flooding provides a threat to neighborhoods in the area. But this community-based green infrastructure, facilitated by Water Wise Gulf South, is designed and built by local residents and volunteers. The system allows for disproportionally affected communities to come forward and lead the effort to mitigate the impact of urban floods in New Orleans.
