Business owner and philanthropist Marcus Lemonis knows all about the power of gratitude. His donation of more than $10 million to his alma mater, Christopher Columbus High School in Miami Dade, will benefit all the staff and the students directly. Every employee will receive a check for $18,000 and the remaining $7 million will go towards the establishment of a career guidance center and a 'Success Center'. The centers are named after families which have impacted the philanthropist as a student. The monetary grant is generous enough to change lives, as many teachers acknowledged. If you receive love from somebody at some point you gotta give it back, says Lemonis. I'm not going to wait for the government or private institutions to do what we think is right.
