In Cleveland, Ohio, a nonprofit organization partnered with three local restaurants to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with Afghan refugees. Sixty families received more than 200 specially prepared halal food, food that is made acceptable for Muslims to consume. Cuisines spanned across Afghan, Somalian, and Middle Eastern cultures, giving a spirit of comfort for refugees who came to resettle in the United States after the collapse of Kabul. "I've been there," said Kifaya Mohammed, owner of Kifaya's Kitchen. "So I want to be able to help them right now and I have the chance to help them."
