The world's first flight using only synthetic fuel took place on November 2nd, 2021 garnering a new Guinness World Record for the British RAF's project MARTIN. Lasting 21 minutes and using Zero Petroleum's synthetic gasoline, the flight was piloted by Group Captain Peter Hackett in an Ikarus C42 aircraft from Cotswold Airport. Militaries cannot rely on civilian charger networks in remote areas, so synthetic fuels are key to delivering fossil fuel equivalent energy without adding to carbon emissions or requiring any aircraft engine modifications.
