The pandemic has brought about a re-evaluation in many facets of our lives, including our work-life balance. Companies, well aware of this trend, are trying out new ways to keep their workers happy. UK's Atom Bank has introduced a four-day work week with full pay for all its 430 employees. The company hopes that this will boost worker happiness and productivity and allow them to spend more time with their families and enjoy things outside of their work. Other global companies which have tried out this move have reported positive outcomes, including a 40% rise in productivity, more efficient meetings and happier workers in Microsoft Japan. "We believe the 20th century concept of a five-day week is, in many cases, no longer fit for purpose for 21st century businesses," says Atom Bank's chief executive, Mark Mullen.
