Zihao Fang, who graduated from Parsons school of design, recently developed Aquastor, a technology that mimics termite mounds in protecting fertile land from turning into desert. The hollow, biodegradable vessels funnel moisture deep into soil, promoting the flourishing of plants in dryer areas and preventing the spread of arid deserts. Fang says that this new technology is a cost and time-efficient way of fighting climate change.
