A teacher from Big Bend, Wisconsin, battling stage 4 cancer was serenaded by her young students in a heartwarming gesture. Carol Mack has been teaching first and second-grade students for over 45 years at Christ Lutheran School in the village. Although already diagnosed, Mack's cancer had advanced, making it impossible to return to the classroom. She needed hospice care and as she moved out of the hospital, she was met be students from first to fourth grades outside of the hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Some were accompanied by their parents who also were taught by Mack. They greeted her and sang songs to her before seeing her off. It was overwhelming and very special. I hope people see how much these kids and their teacher loved each other and how our school community came together, Mack said.
