New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern met an unexpected surprise when delivering an address to the nation via a late-night livestream last week, on November 7, 2021. Her three-year-old daughter Neve escapes her bedroom and adorably interrupts off-camera saying, "Mummy?" Ardern turns to her daughter and says gently, "You're meant to be in bed, darling." After a few persistent requests the young one returns to bed. Ardern smiled and continued on with giving updates on the coronavirus response. Her struggles resonated with parents across the country who were also struggling to balance work and childcare amidst the lockdown.
