In 2020, 13-year-old Abraham Olagbegi found out he was born with a rare blood disorder and needed a bone marrow transplant. About a year later, he found out better news: His transplant was successful and he qualified for Make-A-Wish, an organization that grants wishes to children with serious illnesses. Abraham wanted a long-lasting wish and he had an idea he shared with his mom. "Mom, I thought about it and I really want to feed the homeless," said Miriam Olagbegi, Abraham's mom. After checking to make sure he didn't really want a PlayStation, Abraham's parents fully supported his decision. Make-A-Wish is helping Abraham feed the homeless in Jackson, Mississippi, US, once a month for a year. After that, Abraham plans to continue helping the homeless; he wants to turn this effort into a nonprofit one he's already named "Abraham's Table."
