Staff and customers at a toy shop in Bendigo, Australia, were moved to tears recently after a mystery couple walked in and paid off thousands of dollars worth of laybys (layaways) for Christmas toys. Scott Mills, the toy shop owner, said the grandparents visited his shop and said they wanted to help those who were struggling; They paid off the bills of 82 families. "They told us a story about how they were in hardship when they were younger and struggled to pay their bills. They always swore that if they ever found themselves in a position where they could help, they would," said Mills. The couple's generosity bought Christmas toys such as Legos, trikes, dolls, toy prams, remote control cars, and Barbies. Many of the families had been unable to pay off their debt and bring the toys home for their children.
