Apples that would have otherwise rotted on the tree or ground due to resource limitations of orchard owners are being harvested by volunteers in Switzerland. Community association "SOS Fruit" harvests the apples which then go to a local fruit press to be made into apple juice. Volunteers also take a share of apples home with them to bake, dry, and puree among other things. In all cases, fruit that would've otherwise gone to waste is being put to use and enjoyed by the community.
