The Coca-Cola Company has unveiled its first-ever beverage bottle made from 100% plant-based plastic, as it works towards being part of the circular economy and achieving net zero emissions by 2050. New technology makes it possible to move a generation forward from the partly-oil-based 'Plantbottle' unveiled a decade ago, to a bottle made from components that have been sustainably-sourced from raw materials such as forestry or agricultural waste. This marks the most significant advancement in the commercial viability of bioplastics since its PlantBottle in 2009, Coca-Cola said.
