A giant puppet of a Syrian refugee child symbolizing millions of displaced children has arrived in England. The 11.5-foot (3.5-metre) puppet named Little Amal meaning hope in Arabic has been greeted by thousands of people in eight countries since setting off from the Turkish-Syrian border in July. The idea of Little Amal's search for her brother evolved from a play about migration and displacement set in a camp in northern France where migrants gather hoping to reach Britain. About 20,000 people have crossed the Channel to England by boat so far this year.
