In Madrid, "the Crying Room," takes aim at the societal stigma attached to crying and seeking help, telling visitors "enter and cry" and "I too have anxiety". Spain wants to remove such taboos on dealing with mental illness. On World Mental Health Day, Oct. 10, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced a 100-million-euro ($116 million) mental health care drive. It will include services such as a 24-hour suicide helpline. In 2019, 3,671 people died from suicide, the second most common cause of death after natural causes. One in 10 adolescents has been diagnosed with a mental health condition while 5.8% of the population suffers from anxiety.
