Last October, for the first time anywhere in the world, South Australia solar output met more than 100% of its state demand. And they have done it again this year with solar output sustaining at least 100% of state demand for almost an hour. At one point output even reached a record-breaking 106.1% of state demand. The combined efforts of rooftop and large scale solar farms, such as ones in Bungala, contributed to the progress in renewable energy. Australian Energy Market Operator forecasts that it possible for the system to exceed state demands this coming spring when temperatures are mild and air conditioning sparingly used.
