Seychelles kicked off the Clean Up the World campaign with a dive-clean in the Marine National Park, a favorite snorkelingspot which was the first such park established in the Indian Ocean in 1973. The clean up was organizedby the Seychelles National Parks Authority. "We want to adopt a new approach with the campaign of not only cleaning the communities but also clean our sea as the sea also requires attention," said environment minister Flavien Joubert. The divers found empty bottles and other litter from visitors, showing that people have not yet grasped that rubbish should not be thrown in the sea, he said.
