The quest for green energy is giving birth to a number of innovative products around the world. A company in Hungary has come up with compressed plastic bricks to hold solar panels in pavements, public parks and parking spaces. The company uses the equivalent of 400 plastic bottles to make one square meter of solar pavement and claims that a 20-30 square meter surface can provide enough energy for a family home in a Hungarian climate. The durable bricks can "easily carry the weight of even a heavy truck," reassures Mikls Illys, one of the founders of the company, Platio.
