Abdul Saboor is a photographer on a mission to let the world see the plight of immigrants worldwide. Saboor is himself an immigrant who left Afghanistan in 2014 after receiving threats from the Taliban. He began an arduous journey toward Europe, which took two years and led him through mountains and forests. He was gifted an old digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera while he was in a refugee camp in Serbia; photography became both his vocation and avocation. Today, Saboor is an award-wining professional photographer who has traveled across Europe capturing the struggles that migrants endure along the way -- from police violence to homelessness and other kinds of mistreatment. He splits his time between photography and volunteering in the refugee camp in Calais, France. Saboor's empathy and shared experience has proved invaluable when it comes to working with migrants in the field.
