The 1872 marriage certificate of William and Katey, hidden in the back of a picture frame donated at a thrift store in a small town in North Carolina, was a puzzle. After the thrift store put out a plea on Facebook, local genealogist Connie Knox discovered that the bride was Katharine Havey DeWorth and her groom was William Tindall DeWorth. Looking for descendants, she found Irene Cornish, 65, who was researching a great-uncle but, through Knox, found her great-grandparents. "It felt like my mother, grandmother and great-grandmother were reaching out in some way. On August 22, 2021, Irene retrieved the certificate and met the women who solved the mystery.
