They are part of a movement to open healthy corner stores in Boston, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, San Jose, California, and Newark, New Jersey, to combat food deserts in Black and low-income neighborhoods. In Philadelphia, Arnett Woodall, who has been educating people about healthy food for a decade, wants to see fruit and vegetables on every corner. The concept is to strengthen and fortify communities through food. I want to show individuals you can build Black Wall Street from the ground up.
