Physical therapist Jessica Gade frequently traveled around the world and spent time outdoors, but it was a cancer diagnosis that led her to sign up for the Rebelle Rally, an eight-day all-women's rally through California and Nevada in an off-road stock vehicle, without a GPS or cell phone. Fifty teams search for hidden colored checkpoints along the route. In its sixth year, the 2021 rally is scheduled for Oct. 7-16. Women say, if I can do the Rebelle, I can do anything," says its founder. The race is expensive, so Jessica works extra shifts to cover costs. Amid training and managing fatigue, she is grateful for a curable cancer that allows her to keep chasing her goals.
