A campaign in Glasgow, Scotland, aimed at absorbing a portion of the 527 million used household electronic items in the UK, has been launched. "Recycle Your Electricals" uses community resources to repair computers for those in need and divert them from landfills. "For too long, consumers have been blamed for not reusing and repairing enough when the facilities don't exist for people to make better choices," Sophie Unwin, director of Remade Network told the Good News Network. Through their efforts, more than 1,000 desktop PCs have been donated to individuals and families who would not otherwise be able to afford them.
