Ontario had its first day in nine months without Covid-19 deaths, suggesting the pandemic has receded considerably. While another 194 cases were reported Wednesday, the Canadian province logged no new Covid deaths for the first time since October 14, 2020. The official toll is 9,224. All but one of Ontario's 34 public health units have moved into Step 2 of the government's reopening plan. However, concern remains about the risk of the Delta variant for those who are unvaccinated or have had only a first shot.
