The Brooklyn Museum recently returned more than 1,300 artifacts, some of which are over 2,000 years old, to Costa Rica. Costa Rican archeologists are amazed at the artifacts and expressed their gratitude to the museum. Archeologist Javier Fallas pointed out the return as an extraordinary gesture, saying, "We don't know why they did it, but it's something very good and atypical in the world."
