By 2035, Canada plans to ban the sale of fuel-powered vehicles, on the path to reach the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. From 2035 onward, only zero-emissions vehicles will be sold. We are committed to aligning Canada's zero-emission vehicles sales targets with those of the most ambitious North American jurisdictions, Environment Minister Jonathan Wilkinson said.
