While train travel may mostly be a thing of the past, many railway stations have found new life as unique hotels. In Tennessee, Central Station Hotel in Memphis is near many attractions -- and Amtrak's "City of New Orleans" train still stops twice a day. The Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel -- originally Terminal Station -- is now a unique vacation complex. Nashville's Union Station became a 125-room hotel; in St. Louis, Union Station is now a mixed-use complex with a 537-room hotel; Denver's Union Station has the 112-room Crawford Hotel; and Indianapolis and Scranton both have hotels that used to be stations.
