Climate neutrality is the holy grail of this century, being pursued even by industries that have been notorious for their heavy dependence on fossil fuel-driven processes. Volvo Cars which wants to be climate neutral by 2040, is looking to make a concept car using "fossil free steel." Since the steel and iron used in the production of internal combustion engines in automobiles account for 35 percent of emissions, this is a move in the right direction. This sustainable steel is produced using hydrogen rather than coal and, once it is tested for factors like durability and heat resistance, the world could well be on its way to a cleaner and greener future.
