Two-thirds of human resources managers in the US say it has been difficult to maintain employee morale and, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 40 percent of US adults are showing increased mental health issues related to the pandemic. One way to combat the growing Covid-induced malaise is to invest in employee volunteer programs. A study from Deloitte found that such programs boost morale, workplace atmosphere and brand perception. Nearly 90 percent of respondents say they believe employers that sponsor volunteer activities offer a better working environment overall, and nearly 80 percent say they believe volunteerism is essential to employee wellbeing.
