Bengali folk singer Bikramjit Baulia works at his father's medicine shop but sings whenever he gets the chance. These days, that is often over the phone, when someone is sick with Covid. He knows what that feels like -- he tested positive last year. As well as calls from Assam, where he lives, he gets calls from other states -- from Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and even from Bangladesh -- and from people isolated at home or in hospital, where many people listen on loudspeaker. He has sung in Hindi as well as Bengali. People who have been helped by his music therapy stay in touch to let him know how they are doing.
