Steven Poust had anchored his boat in the river to let his two children, Chase, 7, and Abigail, 4, go for a swim. But the two children had to let go of the boat when it was hit by a strong current. Poust jumped in to try and help them. He told Chase to swim to shore while he tried to reach Abigail, who was wearing a life jacket. It took an hour for Chase to reach shore. By the time the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department reached the boat, Steven and Abigail had drifted away, and other agencies were called in to help find them. All three now are doing well, and Chase is being hailed as a hero for his long swim.
