Each morning, Al Nixon watches the sun come up from his perfect park bench near the sea wall. He found the bench about seven years ago, when he needed to clear his head from his troubles. It worked so well that he started showing up for sunrise three or four days a week. One day a stranger told him, "I know, when I see you sitting there, that everything is going to be alright." Just keep coming, she told him. “For the first time, I knew there was more of a purpose to me being out here than just soothing my own woes,” he says. So he kept coming, every day, even on weekends. People are counting on him to be there.
