It took 50 years for Robert Kroener to attend his commencement ceremony at the University of Southern California and walk with the graduating class. But the 78-year-old retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and civil engineer is proud of his feat. Kroener had just completed his Master's degree in 1971, when he was called back to active duty. His university was glad to welcome him back and honor his achievement. His wife Donna says proudly that after all the hard work and dedication he has put in, enjoying the long overdue fun and ceremony of it all will bring some closure.
