When Deany Powers married Clint Keith in 1947, she wore a German parachute. Her older brother had come back with a Silver Star, a Purple Heart and that silk chute, which her mother and a local seamstress turned into her wedding dress. Deany and Clint adopted twin boys and a girl and had a marvelous life -- in New York, Colorado and Pennsylvania. After Clint died just before Christmas 2019, Deany followed a friend's advice. She contacted the National War Museum in New Orleans, which asked to display it. That iconic dress gave her purpose and hope in the first year without her husband of 72 years.
