Colgate's recyclable toothpaste tube, five years in the making, is the first to meet ready-to-recycle standards under the Australasian Recycling Label program. Composed of polyethylene, it can be discarded into curbside recycling bins. "It's fantastic to see companies striving to phase out difficult to recycle materials, innovating to find recyclable alternatives and sharing those learnings and technology to help transform the wider market," Australian Packaging Covenant Organization chief executive Brooke Donnelly told News.com.au. It is a major step in the company's push toward sustainability and 100 percent recyclable products by 2025.
