Vehicles powered by diesel and gasoline are rapidly losing favor in Norway, which leads the world in the clean transport transition. In March 2021, sales of electrically powered vehicles reached 84.9 percent, the second-highest monthly total ever and up almost 10 percent from a year earlier. The total is made up of full battery electrics (56.3 percent) and plug-in hybrids (28.6 percent). Vehicles that run on diesel or petrol were at 9.5 percent, as sales continue to drop. Analysts say the fast transition will continue with the arrival of ever more compelling and better-value battery-powered vehicles.
