Three young Minneapolis software engineers have found a way to reduce takeout food container waste. Their clean tech startup supplies local restaurants, food trucks, grocery stores and farmers markets with reusable, stainless steel, take-home containers. Four restaurants have adopted use of the trackable containers, which were used about 1,400 times during a two-month pilot project, and say customers like them. Minneapolis restaurants are required to use reusable, recyclable or compostable takeout containers.
