When two teenagers in Michigan were warming up for baseball practice at a park, an unattended dog caught their eye. "This dog just came out of nowhere. We just decided to take the time to go find its owner," recalls Nolan Richards, 15, who, along with friend Andrew Zanakin, put a leash on him. Instead of searching from scratch, though, the dog just pulled them to his home. When the canine stopped outside a house, they saw that the owner's name on the house matched the name on the dog's collar. After ringing the bell, they waited, petting the dog, until someone was able to answer. "I look down at my phone and see I have five missed Ring [doorbell notifications], and then there's two guys sitting on my porch," recalled owner Taylor Ross, who was at work at the time. "They were so sweet, just sitting there for like an hour." Ross thanked the teens and instructed them on how they could get Albert the dog back inside. "It restores faith in people," she said. Fifteen-year-old Richards conveyed that they were just being neighbors. "If one of my dogs got out, I'd expect somebody in our neighborhood to be nice enough to do that for us," he said.
