About 1,000 people in Toronto's shelters and homeless encampments have received a COVID-19 vaccine, a health organization has said. Crews have mobilized quickly after the province identified individuals experiencing homelessness as a priority group. Administrators are learning that working through partner organizations increases the likelihood of clients accepting vaccinations. The vaccination effort is going to move at the speed of trust. You cannot discount the importance of partnerships in these efforts, said Dr. Andrew Boozary, the executive director of social medicine at University Health Network.
