Betty Grebenschikoff and Annemarie Wahrenberg were childhood friends in Germany when their families were forced to flee the country during the Holocaust. Grebenschikoff went to China, Wahrenberg to Chile. Through the University of Southern California Shoah Foundation, which interviews survivors of genocide, an interviewer discovered the connection these women had. Last November they were reunited after 82 years. "Seeing Ana Maria and Betty on the Zoom call, along with their prosperous, healthy and happy families, this was the ultimate triumph over hate," a family member told CBS News.
