When Texas residents found themselves without water and some under a "boil water" notice, due to the shortage caused by unprecedented wintry weather this month, breweries in San Antonio halted beer production to provide residents quality filtered water. As freezing temperatures burst pipes across the U.S. state, the San Antonio Water System first issued a "boil water" notice on Feb. 17. Blue Star Brewery in Southtown, whose water supply was unaffected by the storm, immediately halted its beer production to churn out batches of purified water instead. "People can bring their own containers. They can come here, and we'll fill them up for them at no charge. We also have some small containers that they can purchase," said General Manager Michael Bernal.
